Who are we?

We are Guilt Trip. Here to say “that’ll do, won’t do”. To showcase some of the finest speciality coffee around and to produce some of the tastiest, most badass donuts that our fine city has ever laid eyes or lips on. We want to rewrite the script as many times as possible and have as much fun while we do it. We love coffee and donuts, and coffee and donuts love us!

Who are you?

We are looking for someone who has a passion for coffee and for people. Who’s customer service is consistently superb and who can jump on board the guilt trip team and embrace the brand. You will be working quickly and efficiently brewing up insane coffee’s and serving our customers, whilst always maintaining a beautifully tidy bar area.

The job!

At Guilt Trip we serve batch brew filter, manual pour over, and espresso based drinks. You will need to rock it on all of this methods and ensure that each cup is made with the utmost care and precision, whilst ensuring our customers a great experience every time. You will also be serving customers at point of sale efficiently and calmly engaging with every customer, and will be assisting our baking team with morning prep.

We are offering both part time (10-12hrs minimum) and full time (28hrs minimum) positions. The applicant will be required to be fully available both weekdays and weekends.

We are also interested in hearing from you if you match the criteria and are fully available over Friday, Saturday, Sunday.


  • opening the shop each morning to set up for the day ahead

  • dialing in coffee each morning

  • dosing espresso coffee accurately to within 0.2g

  • steaming milk consistently in line with our shop guidelines

  • brewing both espresso and filter based coffee drinks as well as tea’s and hot chocolates

  • carrying drinks and donuts to tables

  • taking payments at the till

  • serving our ‘to go’ customers as efficiently as possible

  • working quickly and calmly under pressure

  • to educate customers about ‘speciality coffee’ in a way that doesn't intimidate but intrigues

  • maintain cleanliness and organisation of work and storage areas

  • give people the best experience possible in our shop

Minimum requirements:

  • To be a quick learner, adapt to change, and open your mind to the possibilities of coffee.

Desirable criteria:

  • Have had experience working as a barista in the speciality coffee industry.

You will be standing for the majority of your shift and may be required to lift heavier weights.

Guilt Trip is currently open 5 days a week from 10:00 - 16:00 and also on Sundays from 12:00 - 16:00. Applicants must be able to work an hour either side of opening and closing if required. Flexibility through-out the 6 days is essential (including weekends) and candidates should be able to work approximately 6-8 hour shifts.
