Who are we?
We are Guilt Trip. Here to say “that’ll do, won’t do”. To showcase some of the finest speciality coffee around and to produce some of the tastiest, most badass donuts that our fine city has ever laid eyes or lips on. We want to rewrite the script as many times as possible and have as much fun as we can while we do it. We love coffee and donuts, and coffee and donuts love us!
Who are you?
We are looking for someone who wants to see donuts become president! Who can connect with our brand at its heart, and translate that into the donuts we serve. Our ideal candidate is someone who is a complete baker (baking tattoos preferable), who is capable of mass producing donuts to the highest standard consistently day by day with a smile on their face and a cheeky glint in their eye! We also want you to have the creative genius to push the boundaries of the humble donut past the horizon.
All our donuts will be baked by you and our small, dedicated team. They will look and taste incredible because of your efforts. Your job is to produce this product with efficiency and consistency and will include mixing, rolling, proofing, frying, and filling or glazing them to perfection.
We are offering both 12hr and 20-26hr contracted positions. The applicant will be required to be fully available both weekdays and weekends.
We are also interested in hearing from you if you match the criteria and are fully available over Friday, Saturday, Sunday.
opening the shop each morning to prepare our donuts for the day ahead
operating a commercial mixer
preparing and proofing the dough
operating a deep fat fryer and frying donuts
preparing fillings and glaze
rolling dough and forming accurate, perfectly round donuts
manage ingredients and ensure that we are sufficiently stocked for each days trade.
maintain cleanliness and organisation of work and storage areas
operate quickly in a deadline driven environment and remain calm under pressure
You will be required to LOVE donuts with every ounce, cup or tablespoon of your being.
Have had experience working as a pastry chef in a commercial bakery.
Guilt Trip is currently open 6 days a week from 10:00 - 16:00 Tuesday-Saturday and 12:00 - 16:00 on Sunday, with baking shifts commencing at 06:00 and 08:00 on Sunday. Applicants must be able to work an hour in addition to their shift finish time if required. Flexibility through-out the 6 days is essential (including weekends) and candidates should be able to work approximately 6-8 hour shifts.
You will be standing for the majority of your shift and may be required to lift heavier weights.
